It’s not my first one, but I’m doing it differently this time.
I can’t count how many times I have set up a personal website for myself. In most cases I had a very complex idea that I wanted to implement. In the process of setting up everything the idea lost its charm and the website died before I had created any meaningful content.
In the early days I would write HTML pages, later I would start adding some server-side dynamic content using PHP, then I would use WordPress… All of these things ended up distracting me from actually writing anything.
That’s one of the reasons why I wanted this new website to be as minimalistic as possible. Going into more technical details of this website is a topic for another day, but it is much more focused on actually writing text and not worrying about design at all.
That doesn’t mean I will crank out articles in high volume from now on. But if I come across something I want to write about, there is a very low barrier to get it done.
